It’s an unexpected love story set in the wake of the first world war in a Jewish tailor’s shop in East London, and I’ve loved playing with bawdy music hall, the rhythm of sewing machines and shadowy, uneasy echoes to create the sound world that these four intriguing characters inhabit.”
